The defacto complainant is before this Court seeking direction to Investigation Agency viz., CBI/EOW/Chennai, to complete the investigation of the case in FIR.RC.6/E/2010-CBI/EOW/Chennai within a stipulated time.
2. The learned Special Public Prosecutor submitted a Note about present status of the investigation and from the said note, this Court would see that the goods exported by the defacto complainant had been manipulated and stealthily removed in Canada and thereafter, the LC was rejected on the ground of discrepancy in the document. Nearly, eight companies are involved in the crime, out of which four companies are registered at Canada. Since offecnce has committed in a foreign country, the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
prosecution has taken steps to collect materials by issuing Letter of Regotary and seeking assistance of the authorities abroad and the process is under way.
3. The learned Special Public Prosecutor submits that some of the documents sent by the Canadian Authority are in French language and they have got it translated and it requires certain clarification. Hence, clarification is sought and yet to be received.
4. Taking note of the statement made by the respondent regarding the status of the investigation and the nature of investigation, this Court is of the opinion that it is suffice to direct the respondent to expedite the investigation and complete the same as early as possible. Further, the respondent is directed to take investigation on priority basis and complete the investigation within reasonable time.
5. Accordingly, the criminal original petition stands disposed of.
