This petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking suspension of his sentence of imprisonment.
2. The petitioner faced trial in Special C.C. No.2 of 2009 on the file of the Special Judge, Puducherry and the trial Court, by a judgment dated 19.05.2017, convicted and sentenced the petitioner as under : Conviction Sentence under Section 120-B IPC Three months rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.1000/- in default to undergo simple imprisonment for three months Section 9 of Prevention of Corruption Act Three years rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.10000/- in default to undergo simple imprisonment for three months The sentences are to run concurrently.
3. Challenging the same, the present appeal has been filed along with this petition for suspension of sentence.

4. Taking into consideration of the submission of the learned counsels appearing on both sides, since there are some arguable points available in the appeal, I am inclined to suspend the substantive sentence of imprisonment alone.
5. Accordingly, pending appeal, substantive sentence of imprisonment alone is suspended and the petitioner is released on bail on his executing a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the Special Judge, Puducherry with further condition that he shall appear before the said court on the first working day of every month at 10.30 a.m., until further orders. 30.06.2017 vrc/at Crl.M.P.No.8134 of 2017 in 1⁄2
