Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5 herein to conduct an enquiry and submit a report regarding the cause of the death of petitioner's sister Tmt.P.Anjanadevi on 26.03.2000.

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeks to direct the respondents 1 to 5 herein to conduct an enquiry and submit a report regarding the cause of the death of petitioner's sister Tmt.P.Anjanadevi on 26.03.2000.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, it is submitted by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents that the so-called suspicious death of the person concerned, was intimated by the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital and the case was registered in Crime No.201/2000 under Section 174 of Cr.P.C and on the statement of the petitioner itself, it was properly investigated.

According to the respondents, the complaint of the petitioner states that the victim Anjanadevi has consumed acid and in no place, he raised any doubt about the same and in any event, the panchayatar's opinion have to be taken and it revealed that there was a wordy exchange between Anjanadevi and her mother on the point of bringing Anjana Devi's husband to their place and being aggrieved by the mother's comments that she cannot spare food for her unemployed husband, she committed suicide. It is submitted that since the petitioner's sister has committed suicide by consuming Acid, the petition was closed. If the petitioner is aggrieved by the closure report, it is open to question the same in accordance with law before the appropriate criminal court.

Accordingly, this Writ Petition is closed. No costs.
