Heard Mr.K.Jayakumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent and with their consent, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner seeks for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2014 made for change of the name in the birth Certificate by the respondent within a time frame.

3.The petitioner states that his name is S.Ashik Ali. In the Birth Certificate, it has been mentioned as I.Ashik Ali and the petitioner submitted a representation on 27.12.2014 for effecting correction of his initial in the Birth Certificate. 4.In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2014, there will be a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
