This Criminal Original Petition is filed for direction to expedite the trial in EOCC.No.5/2024 on the file of Chief Judicial Magistrate,

2. The Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents states that out of 33 listed witnesses, all the witnesses on the side of the prosecution examined, except the Investigating Officer. The examination of chief and cross of the Investigating Officer will be completed in the next hearing which is fixed on 19.09.2024. Further, the Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) states that due to transfer of the trial from Judicial Magistrate to Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mayiladuthurai, there was some delay. However, the Government Advocate (Crl.Side) undertakes to complete the trial within a period of three months.
