The petitioner seeks direction upon the respondent/Police to register a case on his complaint, dated 16.02.2015. 2.
Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent/Police.

It is seen that the petitioner has lodged his complaint to the Joint Commissioner of Police, Chennai, who is the respondent herein. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to go in person and lodge his written complaint before the concerned Station House Officer. On receipt of such complaint, the Station House Officer is directed to enquire into the matter and register a crime, if cognizable offence is made out, by following the dictum laid down by the Hon'ble Apex Court in Lalita Kumari vs. Govt. of U.P. & others reported in [2013 (4) Crimes 243 (SC)].
