ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 18.04.2018 for the offences punishable under Sections 4 [1][i], 4[1-A][ii] of TNP Act @ 4[1][i], 4[1][aaa] read with 4[1-A] ii of TNP Act in Crime No.280/2018 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. Heard both sides.

3.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in possession of 110 litres of I.D arrack and a case was registered in Cr.No.280/2018 on the file of Thanipadi Police Station.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and that the petitioner is innocent.

5.Per contra, the learned Government Advocate [Crl.Side] would submit that the petitioner/accused has been detained under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of dangerous activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Slum-grabbers and Video Pirates Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 14/1982) on 15.05.2018 and he has been branded as a Bootlegger under the said Act.

6.Under the facts and circumstances of the present case, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. 7.Accordingly, the petition stands dismissed. -sd/- 16/05/2018 This order, on being produced, be punctually observed and carried into execution by all concerned TRUE COPY Sub-Assistant Registrar (Statistics/C.S.)
