O R D E R
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to direct the 2nd respondent police Viz., the Inspector of Police, Vigilance and Anti Corruption Department, Villupuram, Villupuram District to register a case based on the complaint given by him to the respondents dated 30.05.2019.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has given a complaint on 30.05.2019 as against one Shanmugam who is the Joint Director of Agriculture Department of Villupuram District, the respondents herein and other higher officials of the Government of Tamil Nadu in respect of the irregularities committed in the Agriculture Department and misappropriation of several Crores of funds belonging to the Government of Tamil Nadu and prayed for stopping his retirement due on 31.07.2019 till the enquiry is https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
over and also to keep him under suspension. Since no further action has been taken by the respondents, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking for a direction.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that the complaint of the petitioner dated 30.05.2019 was received by the 2nd respondent and as per proper procedure, it was forwarded to the Director, Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Chennai-16. He would further submit that the Director, after perusing the complaint having found that the allegations mentioned in the petition are General in nature and since it requires verification of documents by the concerned Department and finding that the Directorate of Agriculture, Chennai is the competent authority to look into the petition and act upon such petition has forwarded the original complaint for necessary action to him. He would further submit that the Directorate, apart from forwarding the complaint to the competent authority, has not caused any enquiry into the contents of the above petition. He would also submit that upon receipt of further instructions from the competent authority if any appropriate report is received further action will be initiated against the person.
4. Recording the said submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition stands closed, granting liberty to the petitioner to proceed in accordance with law after the report of the Competent Authority. s/d- Assistant Registrar True Copy Sub-Assistant Registrar kv To
