O R D E R

At the hearing, learned counsel for the writ petitioner Mr.M.R.Jothimanian submitted that he would abridge the prayer and restrict the same to a plea to mandamus the second respondent University to dispose of a representation dated 20.03.2017 given by the writ petitioner.

2. To be noted, the aforesaid representation dated 20.03.2017 is part of the typed-set of papers and the same is at Page 12 of the typed-set of papers.

3. In the light of the writ petitioner abridging and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

restricting the prayer in the aforesaid manner, the prayer as it stands now is innocuous.

4. Mr.P.R.Gopinathan, learned standing counsel for University Grants Commission accepts notice on behalf of first respondent and Mr.P.Godson Swaminathan, accepts notice on behalf of the second respondent.

5. There shall be direction to the Registrar of the second respondent University i.e., Periyar University, University Campus, Periyar Palkalai Nagar, Salem to dispose of the aforesaid representation of the writ petitioner dated 20.03.2017, as expeditiously as possible and in any event within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The order disposing of the representation shall be communicated by the second respondent to the writ petitioner under due acknowledgement within five working days from the date of such disposal of representation.
