Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to permit the petitioner to continue as Assistant Professor, Department of Library & Information Science, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, till the petitioner attains the age of 60 on 05.05.2018 with all service and monetary benefits.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent to permit the petitioner to continue as Assistant Professor in Department of Library and Information Science, Bharthiar University, Coimbatore, till the petitioner attains the age of 60, on 05.05.2018 with all service and monetary benefits.

2. The petitioner, who is a non teaching staff based on the U.G.C. norms seeks to permit him to continue in the post of Assistant Professor, Department of Library and Information Science, Bharathiar University and allow him to retire at the age of 60 years as Assistant Professor. This according to him has not been done. In this regard, he made a representation to the respondent on 01.06.2016, followed by another two representations dated 02.06.2016 and 07.06.2016. But, no orders have been passed till date. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed seeking for the aforesaid relief. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The learned counsel for the respondent would contend that now the proposal has been sent and the same is pending before syndicate and the syndicate will take appropriate decision in the next meeting.

4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court feels it is suffice to state that syndicate will take appropriate action on the proposal pending, based on the representations dated 01.06.2016, 02.06.2016 and 07.06.2016 and pass appropriate orders. Accordingly, the syndicate shall take appropriate action on the representations dated 01.06.2016, 02.06.2016 and 07.06.2016 and pass appropriate orders , as expeditiously as possible.

This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs. Accordingly, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
