ORDER

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to issue patta pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 27.02.2025.

3. The petitioner is an agriculturist and has been residing in Hosapuram Village, Denkanikottai Taluk, Krishnagiri District for several decades and has been carrying on agricultural activities. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner, that the petitioner is in peaceful possession in respect of land situated in Survey No.662 measuring 1.85 acres. Despite the petitioner having been in possession and having carried out agricultural activity for decades no patta was granted. The petitioner had thus submitted several representations including the representation dated 27.02.2025. However, the petitioner's representation has not been considered by the respondent. Aggrieved by the same, present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 2/5

would submit that the above Survey No.662 is a Grama Natham. Thus the petitioner's representation dated 27.02.2025 seeking Patta would be examined and appropriate orders would be passed in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with the direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation seeking Patta dated 27.02.2025, on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after putting the petitioner and any other interested parties on notice and after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
