ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to issue Natham Patta in respect of Gramanatham house site property comprised in Old S.No.179, Natham S.No.454/13, measuring an extent of 2957 Sq.ft situated at Madipakkam Village, Sholinganallur Taluk, Chennai District by passing an order on petitioner's representations dated 29.07.2024 and 07.10.2024. 3.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner purchased a residential house site bearing Patta No.617, comprised in Natham S.No.179 and S.No.454/13, measuring an extent of 2957 sq.ft. situated at Madipakkam Village, Sholinganallur Taluk, Chennai District vide Sale Deed No.791 of 2024 dated 08.02.2024, registered before the Sub Registrar Office, Valachari South Chennai. 2/6
4.It is further submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that ever since, petitioner had been in continuous possession and enjoyment of the said property. Petitioner applied for Natham Patta in his name to the respondents vide representations dated 29.07.2024 and 07.10.2024. However, the said representations were not considered by respondents till date. Aggrieved by the same, petitioner has come before this Court.
5.At the outset, it is submitted by the learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents that representations dated 29.07.2024 and 07.10.2024 made by petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner. 6.In view thereof, considering facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to 2nd respondent, to consider the petitioner's representations dated 29.07.2024 and 07.10.2024 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested persons/rival claimants, 3/6
if any, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representations and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representations on its own merits and in accordance with law.
