Petition under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to permit the petitioner (Reg.No.211912219057) to appear for the 7th semester examination in B.Tech Petroleum Engineering Course 2012-2016 by issuing hall ticket. ORDER

Mr.L.P.Shanmugasundaram, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for the first respondent. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. In view of the limited nature of the relief that is going to be granted, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal without ordering notice to the second respondent. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to permit him to appear for the seventh semester examination in B.Tech Petroleum Engineering course in the second respondent college, by issuing the hall ticket.

3. The petitioner would state that the shortage of attendance is on medical grounds and that the petitioner has produced the medical certificate.

4. The learned Standing Counsel for the first respondent submits that if the petitioner secures 67% of attendance as stated in the writ petition, there is no impediment for the University to consider the request of the petitioner.

5. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent - University to consider the medical certificate produced by the petitioner and if the petitioner falls within the cut-off limit, he may be issued a hall ticket so as to enable him to appear for the seventh semester examination. No costs. Consequently, the above MP is closed.
