ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition for a mandamus directing the respondents to promote him to the post of Assistant Director with effect from 29.10.2013 and pay all monetary and service benefits to him.

2.When the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submitted that subsequent to the filing of this writ petition, the petitioner retired from service. Hence, the learned counsel submitted that the writ petition may be closed with liberty to the petitioner to approach the authority concerned with fresh representation for appropriate relief.

3.In view of the aforesaid submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, liberty is granted and this writ petition stands closed. No costs.
