ORDER

This Court, on 09.06.2026, had passed the following order: "Today, a Status Report has been filed by the Inspector of Police, V-5, Thirumangalam Police Station, Chennai. 2.The learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) submits that, in the present case, fourteen witnesses have been examined and their statements were recorded. He further submits that the investigation is at its final stage. 3.The learned counsel for the Petitioner strongly objected to the submission made by the learned counsel for the Respondents and submitted that neither the Petitioner, Raja, nor his wife, Sarika, was summoned and no statements were recorded. He further submitted that the statements of many of the witnesses have not been recorded. It is also submitted that a table-top investigation has been conducted to facilitate the accused in the case, who is a powerful person and who had recently contested the general election.

4.In view of the specific allegation made, the respondent police is directed to file a counter affidavit giving details of the dates of examination of witnesses and the stage of investigation. 5.Post this case on 23.06.2026."

2. In continuation and conjunction to the earlier order passed by this Court on 09.06.2026, today, the learned Government Advocate submitted that in this case investigation completed examining 13 witnesses, LW1 to LW13 and

charge sheet filed before the XIII Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai through E-filing No.LTN20230001178C202600170 on 22.06.2026.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner strongly opposed the manner in which charge sheet filed, that too when specific direction was issued by this Court to given details, based on which witnesses examined and statements recorded. To circumvent the same, charge sheet filed in a haste manner.

4. The apprehension of the petitioner is reasonable but in view of the charge sheet filed before the Court, it is for the petitioner to get a copy from the trial Court. The trial Court, i.e., XIII Metropolitan Magistrate Court to take charge sheet on file within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If the petitioner has got any objection, he can approach the trial Court.

5. With the above directions, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
