Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the impugned order of the second respondent herein in C.No.A-2/01060/2012 dated 11.06.2013 and quash the same and direct the respondents (1) to
(3) to promote the petitioner to the post of Sub-Inspector (Armed Reserve) with effect from the date of promotion of his juniors, namely, the fifth and sixth respondents with effect from the year 2000 and grant the petitioner all other attendant benefits.

The learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, made a submission that during the pendency of the present writ petition, the writ petitioner was promoted to the post of SubInspector of Police. In respect of his claim of retrospective promotion, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Competent Authority for redressal of his grievances by filing an appeal and in the event of filing such an appeal, the Competent Authority shall decide the same on merits and in accordance with law.
