Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents/State.

On a reading of the petitioner's complaint dated 09.06.2016, it is seen that this petitioner had entered into an agreement with the opposite party on 28.06.2013, under which, the opposite party has not complied with the terms thereof. Since the dispute essentially appears to be contractual in nature, no positive direction can be issued to the respondent police to register an FIR, as prayed for. In the result, this Criminal Original Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
