The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioners claim for reinstatement and appointment to the post of Supernumerary Plot Watcher as per the recommendation made in Na.Ka.No.3309/ 2013/pa1 dated 03.03.2014 within a time frame.
.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
.The case of the petitioners is that they were appointed as Plot Watchers in the Forest Department on 01.11.1989 (P.Malaichamy), 01.11.1986 (V.Subramani), 01.11.1986 (K.Muthusamy), 01.06.1986 (R.Veerappan) and 01.03.1983 (S.Balasubramani). As per G.O.65, Environment and Forest Department, dated 08.03.1999, their names were included in the seniority list. Thereafter, the District Forest Officer, Karur vide proceedings dated 03.03.2014 has sent their service particulars to the second respondent for appointment to the post of Forest Watcher. However, the same was not considered so far. Hence, this writ petition.
.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioners have made representation dated 07.03.2018 to the second respondent. Hence, without going into the merits of the case, it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.03.2018 and to pass appropriate orders. 5.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, I am inclined to issue direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.03.2018, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
.The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs. s/d- Assistant Registrar(CS V) True Copy Sub-Assistant Registrar pri To 1.The Secretary to Government, Environment and Forest Department, Fort St.George, Chennai - 9.
