Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel

for the petitioners seeks permission of this Court to withdraw this Writ Petition and she has also made an endorsement to that effect.

2. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that as per Rule 8(8) of the Tamil Nadu Minor Mineral Concession Rules, extension of lease period for quarrying cannot be granted. Since the petitioner has chosen to withdraw the Writ Petition, no further adjudication is required in this Writ Petition.

3. Accordingly, these Writ Petitions stand dismissed as withdrawn. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. No costs. 09.02.2024 skr Index : Yes To
