This Criminal Original Petition is filed to direct the V Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai to complete the trial proceedings in the C.C.No.4428 of 2016 as expeditiously as possible.

2. The Learned Counsel for the petitioner states that he being the accused unnecessarily put to hardship since the case against him not completed even after lapse of seven years.

3. The Learned Government Advocate (crl.Side) for the respondent submits that this petitioner is facing trial in two cases one in C.C.No.4427 of 2016 and another in C.C.No.4428 of 2016, for offence under Section 406, 420 and 506(i) of I.P.C r/w 34 of I.P.C.

4. Since, he has not cross examined P.W.1, the matter was delayed and it is now posted for cross examination of P.W.1 on the application to recall the said witness.

5. The Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent states that if the petitioner cooperate with the investigation, there is no impediment in marshalling the prosecution witness on the hearing dates.

6. Recording the same, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the V Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai to expedite the trial and dispose the case as early as possible. 25.07.2024 Index : Yes/No.
