ORDER
Heard Mr.M.Elango, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Baladhandayutham, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3.
2. In view of the order to be passed in this Writ Petition, notice to the fourth respondent herein is dispensed with.
3. The petitioner herein seeks compassionate appointment. His father, while in service, died on 08.07.2003. Claiming that the petitioner was a minor at that relevant point of time, the petitioner has now made an application on 15.12.2015, after a lapse of twelve years.
4. The scheme of compassionate appointment requires the legal 2/4
heirs of the late employee to make an application within three years seeking for compassionate appointment. When, admittedly, no application was made by the widow of the late employee and the present application has been made only in the year 2015, the representation made by the petitioner in this regard cannot be considered by the respondents and hence, no useful purpose would be served by directing the respondents to consider the representation.
5. In the result, there are no merits in the present Writ Petition. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. 20.06.2023 Index:Yes/No Speaking order/Non-speaking order hvk 3/4
