Respondent(s) Prayer : Criminal Miscellaneous Petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023, to modify the order dated 01.04.2026 made in Crl.O.P.No.8204 of 2026, by permitting the petitioner to report before the J-8 Neelakarai Police Station, Chennai - 600 115, twice a week at 10.30 a.m., and 5.30 p.m., instead of para 7(c), the petitioner shall report before the respondent police twice a day at 10.30 am., and 5.30 p.m., for a period of 30 days and thereafter as and when required for interrogation.

ORDER

This petition has been filed to modify the condition imposed by this Court by an order dated 01.04.2026, in para 7(c) of Crl.O.P.No.8204 of 2026, thereby directed the petitioner to report before the respondent police, twice a day at 10.30 a.m., and 5.30 p.m., for a period of 30 days. 2.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is very ill having been diagnosed with cancer of the rectum and unable to comply the condition imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for necessary modification.

Considering the above submissions, this Court is inclined to modify the condition imposed in para 7(c) of the order passed in Crl.O.P.No.8204 of 2026 dated 01.04.2026, as follows :- "(c) the petitioner shall report before the Inspector of Police, J-8 Neelankarai Police Station, Chennai, twice a day at 10.30 a.m., and 5.30 p.m., for a period of 30 days and thereafter as and when required for interrogation." The other conditions shall remain intact.

4. Accordingly, the Criminal Miscellaneous Petition stands modified.
