Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus directing the respondents herein to produce the body of the petitioner's daughter Kiruthika, D/o.Ramasamy, aged about 21 years, who is now illegally detained by the 3rd respondent before this Court and set her at liberty.

ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents herein to produce the body of the petitioner's daughter Kiruthika, aged about 21 years, who is now illegally detained by the 3rd respondent before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Kiruthika, aged about 21 years, went missing from 28.04.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

On instructions, Mr.R.Muniyapparaj, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Kunnam Police Station Crime No.178 of 2021 was registered on 29.04.2021 for 'woman missing' and investigation is in progress.

Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mangalamedu Sub-Division, to monitor the investigation in Kunnam Police Station Crime No.178 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Kiruthika, aged about 21 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Additional Mahila Court (Magisterial Level), Kunnam, Perambalur District, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
