Respondents in both W.Ps COMMON PRAYER: Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioners' appeals dated 29.07.2013 and 19.09.2013 with regard to the inclusion of their names in the panel for promotion to the post of Tahsildars of Thiruvallur District for the year 2012 within a time fixed by this Court.

For Petitioners in both W.Ps : Mr.P.Rajendran For Respondents in both W.Ps : Mr.S.Thangavel Special Government Pleader COMMON ORDER The prayer made in these writ petitions is to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioners' respective appeals dated 29.07.2013 and 19.09.2013 with regard to the inclusion of their names in the panel for promotion to the post of Tahsildar, Thiruvallur District for the year 2012 within a time to be fixed by this Court.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that as on the crucial date for preparation of panel for promotion to the post of Tahsildar, i.e., on 01.07.2012, the petitioners are eligible to include their names in the same, however, the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

respondents have not done so. Whereas, their juniors' names were included and were promoted. Hence, they made representations to the Collector, Thiruvallur, requesting to include their names in the panel of 2012 and grant monetary benefits till the date of retirement, to which, they received replies dated 19.07.2013 instructing them to file appeals before the Appellate Authority. Accordingly, the petitioners preferred appeals dated 29.07.2013 and 19.09.2013, before the first respondent / Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Disaster Management and Mitigation, Chennai - 600 005, which are pending without any consideration. Hence, these writ petitions.

3.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that the first respondent would consider the appeals filed by the petitioners and pass appropriate orders on merits, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4.Considering the limited relief sought for herein, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the appeals filed by the petitioners dated 29.07.2013 and 19.09.2013, if not already considered, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.Accordingly, both the writ petitions stand disposed of. No costs.
