This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking writ of mandamus directing the respondents to upgrade the services of the petitioner from the cadre of Hostel Superintendent Cum Physical Training Officer after completion of 12 years of Service to upgrade the cadre as Hostel Superintendent Cum Physical Training Officer Grade- II and on completion of 24 years of Service in the cadre to upgrade the cadre as Hostel Superintendent Cum Physical Training Officer Grade- I in the appropriate scale of pay thereby grant the said promotions to the petitioner in the upgraded cadre retrospectively from the date of eligibility of promotion with all other consequential monetary and other service benefits which are all entitled to be granted to the petitioner pursuant to the representation of the petitioner dated 04.04.2026 and Consequential
proceedings in the letter No.efile.2708/P2/ 2026-1, dated 09.04.2026. For Petitioner(s):

ORDER
This writ petition is filed for the following relief: " To direct the respondents to upgrade the services of the petitioner from the cadre of Hostel Superintendent Cum Physical Training Officer after completion of 12 years of Service to upgrade the cadre as Hostel Superintendent Cum Physical Training Officer Grade- II and on completion of 24 years of Service in the cadre to upgrade the cadre as Hostel Superintendent Cum Physical Training Officer Grade- I in the appropriate scale of pay thereby grant the said promotions to the petitioner in the upgraded cadre retrospectively from the date of eligibility of promotion with all other consequential monetary and other service benefits which are all entitled to be granted to the petitioner pursuant to the representation of the petitioner dated 04.04.2026 and Consequential proceedings in the letter No.efile.2708/P2/ 2026-1, dated 09.04.2026."
2. Though this writ petition is filed for the aforesaid relief, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice if the representation dated 04.04.2026 is disposed of within a time frame.
3. Considering the above submission without expressing any opinion on the merits of this case, the 1st respondent is directed to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
