Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioners' representations seeking house sites patta in the light of the proceedings of the 2nd respondent dated 24.09.2014.

The petitioners, who belong to Washermen Community, submitted their applications to the 2nd respondent, for issuance of house site patta pursuant to the welfare measure taken by the Government of Tamil Nadu to provide house sites to landless poor dhobis in and around Hosur Taluk and also submitted a representation to the 2nd respondent subsequently on 11.09.2014. The 2nd respondent, after scrutinising the applications, recommended the petitioners' names to the 3rd respondent for further action vide proceedings in Na.Ka.No. 10883/2014/M1 dated 24.09.2014. Though more than one year has elapsed, no action is forthcoming at the hands of the 3rd respondent. Hence, the petitioners have come forward with the present writ petition. 2.

Considering the above, the 3rd respondent is directed to take further action on the applications of the petitioners for issuance of house site patta in the light of the proceedings of the 2nd respondent dated 24.09.2014, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
