O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed for a Mandamus directing the respondent to forthwith refund the amount of Rs.5,32,500/- deposited for grant of Additional Bar Licence and Rs.75,000/- deposited for the Additional Bar Licence No.6/2001-2002 and to increase the storage capacity in the Bar Premises of the Petitioner from 800 Units to 3000 Units under FL3 Licence No.16/2000-2001 by considering the representations of the petitioner dated 17.02.2026 and 23.02.2026.

2. The petitioner is the holder of FL3 Licence No.16/2000-2001 granted by the respondent to the petitioner hotel on 12.07.2000. On 14.05.2001, FL3 Additional Bar Licence No.6/2001-2002 was granted to the petitioner on payment of Security Deposit of Rs.75,000/-. On 24.10.2016, the additional Bar Licence was cancelled, since renewal fees was not paid by the petitioner from 2014 to 2015. The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 27.03.2017 to the respondent, requesting to refund the Security Deposit of Rs.75,000/- deposited for the Additional Bar Licence, and a reminder was given on 12.07.2021 for refund of the Security Deposit. On 17.02.2026, last representation was given by the petitioner for refund of the deposit of Rs.75,000/-. While so, on 09.05.2023, the petitioner has also applied for Additional Bar Licence and paid a sum of Rs.5,32,500/-, however the same was

not granted to the petitioner till date. The petitioner has also submitted a representation dated 17.02.2026 seeking return of the sum of Rs.5,32,500/- followed by which, another representation dated 23.02.2026 was given to the respondent seeking to increase the storing capacity of units from 800 to 2000 for FL3 Licence No.16/2000-2001 and since no action was taken, the petitioner has filed the instant writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the parties and perused the materials on record.

Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for, this Court, without expressing anything on merits, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representations dated 17.02.2026 and 23.02.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
