ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.02.2026.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in this case, the petitioner purchased the subject property under a deed of sale dated 22.02.1984 registered as Document NO.1074 of 1984 on the file of the SubRegistrar, Tambaram. As the layout had changed, a rectification deed was executed on 27.10.1986 and the same was registered as Document No.6926 of 1986 incorporating the correct particulars. During such process, the subject property was assigned to Plot No.51 but, in the extracts provided by the authorities, it was wrongly entered as Plot No.31 instead of 51. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation dated 23.02.2026 to carry out the rectification stated therein in the extract of the Document No 6926 of 1986 (Rectification Deed dated 27.10.1986) and issue a rectified encumbrance certificate. Since no action has been taken, the present writ petition is filed.
3. In reply, the learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 23.02.2026 will be disposed of by the respondent within a period of eight weeks.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.
5. In view of the above, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.02.2026 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner. It is made clear that in the event if the original sale deed is not matching with the typed sale deed of the respondent, the respondent concerned is rectify the same.
6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 09-06-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order KKN To The Sub Registrar Padappai, Ofice of the Sub-Registrar, Padappai.
