Mr.A.Prasanna Venkatesan for M/s.APR Associates COMMON JUDGMENT (Judgment was delivered by T.S.SIVAGNANAM,J) We have heard Mr.P.Gunaraj, learned Standing Counsel for the appellants and Mr.A.Prasanna Venkatesan, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent.
2. These appeals have been directed against the common order dated 23.7.2012 passed in W.P.Nos.20393 and 20394 of 2011 filed by the respondent herein.
3. The learned Single Judge, by the impugned common order, directed the appellant Board to extend the benefit of Low Tension Tariff IV to the respondent herein - writ petitioner within a time frame.
4. The learned counsel for the respondent herein - writ petitioner submits that during the pendency of these appeals, the respondent herein applied for service connection under a different scheme namely Tatkal Self Financing Scheme and that they have been granted the service connection.
5. To substantiate the same, a copy of the proceedings dated 26.7.2018 and a copy of the meter card are produced before us. In the light of the above, the prayer sought for by the respondent herein in the said writ petitions no longer survives.
6. Accordingly, the above writ appeals are allowed and the common order passed in the said writ petitions are set aside for
the reason that the respondent herein has been granted service connection under the Tatkal Self Financing Scheme. It is made clear that the respondent herein will be entitled to enjoy the service connection under the said scheme. No costs. Consequently, the connected MPs are closed.
