ORDER

Heard Mr.N.K.Suresh Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

2. The petitioner seeks for the issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 24.12.2014.

3. According to the petitioner, his lands were acquired by the Government for public purpose in the year 2003 and for the compensation amount paid to the petitioner, TDS at 10% was also deducted. Now, the petitioner wants a certificate for such deduction. Therefore, he made a representation to the respondents on 24.12.2014. However, the same is pending till date. Hence, the present writ petition.

4. In view of the fact that already tax has been deducted at source by the respondents for the compensation amount paid, the respondents are bound to issue TDS Certificate to the petitioner. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation made by the petitioner for the issuance of TDS Certificate and issue the same in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
