ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 to grant permission and necessary protection to conduct Theva Thiruizha Festival scheduled to be held from 22.05.2026 to 23.05.2026 for Sri Iyyanarappan, Sri Veerakaran Periandavar Temple in Ponnampalayam, Koneripatti Agraharam, Sangagiri Taluk, Salem District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 17.04.2026.
2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that, a peace committee has to be conducted between the petitioner faction and the 5th respondent faction.
3.Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
4. In view of the above submissions, this Court directs the second respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer,Sangagiri, Salem District, to conduct a peace committee after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to both he petitioner as well as the fifth respondent faction. Further, the fourth respondent, namely, the Inspector of Police, Thevar Police Station, Salem District, is also directed to facilitate the petitioner by providing necessary protection to conduct the Theva Thiruizha Festival scheduled to be held from 22.05.2026 to 23.05.2026 for Sri Iyyanarappan, Sri Veerakaran Periandavar Temple in Ponnampalayam, Koneripatti Agraharam, Sangagiri Taluk, Salem District, without any difficulty. It is made clear that none of the parties shall claim any right to first honour.
