Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of habeas corpus directing the second respondent to produce the body of the detenu petitioner's father namely Chinnasamy (aged 72 years) before this Court and set him at liberty.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.] The petitioner, who is the son of the detenu, has come forward to file this habeas corpus petition seeking to produce him before this Court.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties. 3.We have perused the two status reports filed. The detenu is stated to be missing from 09.05.2019 onwards. A case has also been registered in Crime No. 192 of 2019 for man missing. The report also suggests the investigation done thus far. The second status report has been filed only on 11.12.2020. 4.In such view of the matter, the habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the second respondent to proceed with the investigation and make an endeavour to secure the detenu.
