CORAM

THE HONOURABLE MR JUSTICE P.B. BALAJI CRP.No.3122 of 2025 Balachandar ... Petitioner Vs.

Bharathi @ Kothai ... Respondent Prayer: Civil Revision Petition filed under Article 227 of Constitution of India, to direct the learned Principal Subordinate Judge, Villupuram to dispose of H.M.O.P.No.1 of 2017 pending on the file of the learned Principal Subordinate Judge, Villupuram.

For Petitioner : Mr.K.S.Ilangovan

ORDER

The Civil Revision Petition has been filed to direct the learned Principal Subordinate Judge, Villupuram to dispose of H.M.O.P.No.1 of 2017.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. 1/4

3.The petitioner, who has initiated H.M.O.P.No.1 of 2017 seeking dissolution of the marriage with the respondent is the revision petitioner herein.

4.In view of the limited prayer sought for in the revision, notice tot he respondent is dispensed with.

5.The grievance of the revision petitioner is that though the trial was completed even in 2024 and the OP was at the stage of arguments, the respondent has filed miscellaneous petitions seeking to reopen and recall the evidence on her side and hence, the OP has been kept pending for more than seven years.

6.Considering that the OP has been filed in January 2017, I am inclined to direct the Principal Subordinate Court, Villupuram, to expedite disposal of HMOP.No.1 of 2017 pending on its file and in the event of any interlocutory application pending, the same may be disposed of within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the main OP shall be disposed of within a period of eight weeks thereafter. 2/4

7.With the above direction, the Civil Revision Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
