This Criminal Original petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent police to give police protection to the petitioner based on the representation made on 05.04.2023.

The case of the petitioner is that he has given a complaint against the former minister and hence, he is apprehending threat for himself and his family members. Consequently, a representation came to be given on 05.04.2023 seeking for police protection. Since the same was not considered by the respondent police, the present petition has been filed before this Court.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions submitted that pursuant to the representation made by the petitioner, police surveillance is happening on a daily basis and to substantiate the same, the necessary materials were also placed before this Court. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that police beat is monitoring during the day time and also in the night time. 2/4
