The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 27.05.2023 for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(i), 4(1)(aaa), 4(1-A) of TNP Act in Crime No.66 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, petitioner is an accused in Crime No.66 of 2023 for the offences under Sections 4(1)(i), 4(1)(aaa), 4(1-A) of TNP Act He further submitted that, petitioner is innocent and he is falsely implicated in this case. Petitioner is in judicial custody from 27.05.2023. Thus, he prays for grant of bail.

3. In response, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that petitioner was found with possession of 110 litres of illicit I.D.Arrack on 27.05.2023, at about 13.00 hrs, near Enankudi Mudikondan river bridge. He has 27 previous cases of similar nature.

4. Considering the quantum of illicit I.D. Arrack alleged to have been seized from the petitioner and the fact that petitioner has similar 27 previous cases pending, this court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
