S.Naveen Kuamr v. Uma , Ips
IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT MADRAS
DATED: 22-08-2025
CORAM
THE HONOURABLE MR JUSTICE M.S. RAMESH S.Naveen Kuamr S/o, SUBRAMANI.
Petitioner(s) Vs Uma, IPS The Deputy Inspector General of Police Coimbatore Range, Coimbatore (I/C), Salem Range , Salem.
Contemnor(s) PRAYER: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, praying to punish the respondent herein for their act of willful disobedience to the order of this court dated 07.12.2023 made in W.P.No. 23349 of 2023 For Petitioner (s) :
Mr.M.Loganathan For Contemnor(s):
MR.P.Kumar Additional Advocate General Assisted by Mrs.V.Yamuna Devi, Special Govt. Pleader
ORDER
Pursuant to the statutory notice, Mrs.Uma IPS - DIG, Villupuram is present before this Court. Her future appearance is dispensed with for the present.
2.At this juncture, the learned Additional Advocate General submitted that the writ appeal was taken on file as W.A.No.1165 of 2025 and the stay application in C.M.P No.8986 of 2025 was dismissed on 15.04.2025. The petitioner has thereafter filed the contempt petition on 29.04.2025. 3.Admittedly writ appeal is pending before the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court. In my view, it would not be appropriate to adjudicate the contempt petition when the writ appeal is pending. However, the petitioner is granted liberty to work out his remedy subject to the final outcome of the writ appeal to meet the ends of justice.
4.Accordingly, the Contempt Petition stands closed with a liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy in accordance with law subject to the final orders to be passed in the writ appeal.
