O R D E R

The petitioners seek for a direction to the 1st respondent herein to transfer the Crime No.88 of 2015, from the file of the 3rd respondent herein to the Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing II, Anna Nagar, Chennai - 400 for appointing an appropriate officer to investigate and file a report. 2.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for petitioners. 3.

The essential ingredients of the complaint is that the accused invited deposits from gullible public, promising high rate of interest. Reposing faith on their words, the petitioners and others invested their hard earned money. When the money was demanded, the accused furnished cheques, but, when the cheques were presented for realization, they were dishonored. 4.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent/Police submitted that, as on date, 300 persons have been hoodwinked by the accused.

Taking into consideration, the nature of allegations, it will be in the interest of justice, if the investigation in Crime No.88 of 2015, is transferred from the file of the 3rd respondent herein to the Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing II, Anna Nagar, Chennai - 400, as sought for by the petitioners, in this Petition.

6. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is ordered. The Superintendent of Police, EOW, shall entrust the investigation to a competent officer under him, who shall complete the investigation in this case as expeditiously as possible.
