Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the Respondents to determine the compensation for the land in T.S.No.53/2, 54/2, 55/2 in block no.42 Koyambedu Village, Egmore, Nungambakkam Taluk, Chennai District at the market rate which was prevailed when possession was taken and pay us the difference amount (value as per the rates in force - what was paid to us) along with interest for the delayed payment from the date of taking possession of the land till the date of actual payment and Solatium. When the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.M.R.Gokul Krishnan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the Respondents 1, 3 & 4, on instructions would submit that the District Collector, Chennai, is the competent authority to dispose of the petitioners claim petition. Page No. 2 of 4

2. Recording the same, the District Collector, Chennai, is suo moto impleded as the 5th Respondent.

3. In the light of the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the newly impleaded 5th Respondent viz., The District Collector to dispose of the Petitioners claim Petition on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of of this Order.
