O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents, to give police protection to the petitioners' chit fund namely Thillai Chit Private Limited, No.79/80, North Street, First Floor, Chidhamparam, Cuddalore District, to conduct chit business and functions peacefully without disturbance, rumour etc by its subscribers or others.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents. 3 . The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that without obtaining any permission from RBI, the petitioners are running chit fund and cheated the public and the investigation is pending.

4. When the query is posed by this Court to the learned counsel for the petitioners that whether the petitioners have obtained any permission from the concerned authorities to lend the amount of loan, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners is not able to give any answer and no materials have been produced in this regard. Since the chit fund itself is operated in violation of the norms, police protection cannot be ordered to run the chit fund. Hence, this Petition is dismissed.
