ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for a mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 3, to restore the electricity service connection of the petitioner by fixing the new electricity meter in the existing service connection No.090-001-365 comprised in Survey No.235/13 for the Sri Krishna Timber Depot situated at No.79, Panpakkam Village, Gummidipundi, Thiruvallur District.
2. The petitioner claims that she is a tenant under the fourth respondent. According to the petitioner, she was having the above mentioned electricity service connection in her name but the fourth respondent has broken up the electricity meter and disconnected the electricity service connection of the petitioner. She has given a 2/6
representation to the respondents to restore her electricity service connection by fixing a new electricity meter. Since the representation has not been considered till date, she has filed this Writ Petition.
3. Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh, learned counsel for TNEB, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3. By consent of both the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Notice to the fourth respondent is dispensed with.
4. On instructions, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, would submit that the respondents are willing to restore the electricity service connection of the petitioner, provided Police assistance is granted to them.
5. No prejudice will be caused to the respondents if a direction granting Police assistance for the fixing of the new electricity meter in the petitioner's property is given as the petitioner was enjoying her electricity service earlier and only due to the act of the fourth respondent, the electricity service connection got disconnected.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the third respondent to restore the electricity service connection of the petitioner in respect of the service connection No.090-001-365 comprised in Survey No.235/13 for the Sri Krishna Timber Depot situated at No.79, Panpakkam Village, Gummidipundi, Thiruvallur District, within a period of one (1) week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after obtaining the Police assistance from the concerned Police Station. The third respondent shall request for Police Assistance from the concerned Police Station and on such request being made, the concerned Police Station shall render Police assistance for the effective implementation of this order.
7. With the aforesaid directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
