Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st and 2nd Respondents to take action on the Petitioner's Representation dated 27.02.2023.

For Petitioner : Mr.A.Rameshmanikandan For Respondents : Mr.P.Muthukumar (R1 to R6) State Government Pleader *** 2/6

O R D E R

The relief sought in this public interest litigation is a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd Respondents to take action on the Petitioner's Representation dated 27.02.2023.

2. Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader takes notice for the Respondents 1 to 6. With consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, he submitted a representation on 16.06.2021 for getting his land surveyed and that he got the survey done, that too, only after he struggled for 195 days by way of addressing representations and lodging complaints before various authorities, whereas, as per rules, the survey of his land ought to have been done within a period of 30 days. That apart, according to him, though, actually, the survey was made on 29.12.2021, as per the reply he got under the Right to Information Act, the survey was done on 15.07.2021 itself, which is a clear case of forgery. It is the further case of the petitioner that like him, there are several applicants who are driven from pillar to post for getting their lands surveyed and hence, this public interest litigation.

4. Be it noted, though this petition is filed as a public interest litigation, it appears that the petitioner has projected his own case more under the guise of a public spirited person. In other words, the petitioner has not furnished the requisite details in support of his claim that this is a public interest litigation. In such perspective of the matter, this writ petition is dismissed as being devoid of merits. It is made clear that dismissal of this Writ Petition is not a bar to take recourse to any such proceedings by furnishing the correct details. No costs.
