2.Today, when the matters were taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that subsequent to the filing of the writ petitions, the petitioners retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation and hence, nothing survives for adjudication.

3.In view of the above submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, these writ petitions are dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
