ORDER

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to follow the 1:5 ratio as per the G.O.Ms.18 dated 25.2.2008, issued by Labour and Employment (N2) Department in the Recruitment process for the post of Technical Assistant in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and further to direct the respondents to consider only 5th and 6th Semester marks obtained by the petitioner in his Diploma Course instead of 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Semester marks obtained in the Diploma Course.

2. The learned Standing counsel appearing on behalf of the TANGEDCO made a submission that 1:5 ratio has been followed by the authorities in the process of recruitment. However, the claim of the writ petitioner to calculate the marks secured in 5th and 6th Semester cannot be considered. In fact, the marks obtained by the candidate in the Diploma course in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Semester are taken into consideration for the purpose of selecting the candidates.

3. This apart, the petitioner has filed the writ petition in the year 2014 with reference to the selection of the year 201314 and on account of efflux of time, the relief as such sought for in the writ petition lost its relevance. Further, the recruitment procedure for appointment to the Post of Technical Assistant also underwent changes and therefore, the relief as such sought for in the writ petition lost its relevance and accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.
