Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of declaration, to declare that the maximum age qualification rules in respect of the category 'others' as prescribed by the respondent for direct recruitment against vacancies to the post of Assistant in the combined Civil Services Examination under Notification No.1/2014 dated 06.02.2014 or as may be conducted by the respondent from time to time, are unconstitutional and ultravires, insofar as the petitioner is concerned.

There is no representation on behalf of the petitioner.

2. The Writ Petition is of the year 2014. The petitioner has prayed for a declaration to declare that the maximum age qualification rules in respect of the category 'others' as prescribed by the respondent for direct recruitment against vacancies to the post of Assistant in the Combined Civil Services Examination under Notification No.1/2014 dated 06.02.2014 to be unconstitutional.

3. Since more than 10 years have lapsed, there is no justification in keeping this writ petition pending. Even otherwise the petitioner would have been disqualified participating in the Combined Civil Service Examination under Notification No.01/14 dated 06.02.2014 for the post of 'Assistant'. Further, it appears from affidavit filed along with the present writ petition that the petitioner was 42 years old at the time of filing of the writ petition and will be almost 55 years as on date. 2/4

4. In view thereof, this Writ Petition stands dismissed due to efflux of time. No costs.
