This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 6 to remove the electricity service connection granted in the name of SVR Blocks in the subject property which belongs to the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 to 6 and perused the materials placed on record.

The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that he is the owner of the subject property and the respondents 7 and 8 had managed to obtain electricity service connection in the name of SVR Blocks for the said property, without the knowledge and consent of the petitioner. A representation was made by the petitioner in this regard and since no action was taken, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel produced the written instructions received from the Assistant Engineer. On going through the same, it is seen that the objections given by the petitioner is already under consideration and that after conducting an enquiry, a decision will be taken. That apart, in the application submitted by the petitioner, there were some discrepancies and the petitioner has been directed to rectify the same and since the same was not done, the request made by the petitioner to transfer the electricity service connection to his name is kept on hold. 3/6

5. In the light of the above instructions given by the Assistant Engineer, there shall be a direction to the 6 th respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner and conduct an enquriy and take a decision within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The interested party shall be heard before taking a final decision.

This writ petition is disposed of on the above terms. No costs. 11.06.2025 gya 4/6
