Respondent Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to consider and pass orders on the Statutory Appeal filed by the petitioner dated 29.02.2024 against the modified punishment of Censure imposed in Mu.A.No.E13/16786/2019 dated 13.02.2024 issued by the Additional Chief Secretary/Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corporation. ORDER
The petitioner was imposed with the punishment of censure by order dated 13.02.2024. It is submitted that the petitioner has filed an appeal dated 20.02.2024.
2. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent would submit that the said appeal was filed on 01.03.2024 as per the endorsement made at the respondent office. He would further submit that the said appeal would be disposed of within such time, as may be prescribed by this Court.
3. In view thereof, the present writ petition is ordered on the following terms:
i. The respondent is directed to consider the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 20.02.2024 and pass final orders thereon, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, in any event not later than a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
There shall be no order as to costs.
