By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would state that he joined the services of the respondent in the year 1990 and presently working as a cook in Government College Boys Hostel (B.C.), Erode. He has also passed VIII standard and possessed driving licence to drive Light Motor Vehicles.

3. According to the petitioner, he is eligible to be promoted as driver as per G.O.Ms.No.46, dated 01.08.2014 and made a representation to the respondent on 13.11.2015 seeking to promote him as a Driver. Since, the same was not considered by the respondents, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

4. Heard the submissions of Mr.S.Parthasarathy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr. S.Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

5. Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the third respondent to consider and dispose of the representation dated 13.11.2015 on merits and in accordance with law, and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.

6. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
