ORDER
The present petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent to complete its investigation and file its final report within a time line which the petitioner requires this Court to fix vis-a-vis Crime No.9 of 2018. 1/4
2.Dr.C.E.Pratap, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submits that the investigating agency has forwarded a copy of the F.I.R. to the Vice Chancellor, to hold an in house enquiry into that, and it is waiting for certain leads that may come out of the said enquiry. To the extent the investigating agency has some leads now, it is more likely to drop further action against the present petitioner. However, a decision is yet to be taken. He has also circulated a proceeding dated 27.09.2022 which reads as follow: "......
5.The intimation of the Directorate of Vigilance and AntiCorruption is that in respect of Accused Officer-4 Thiru.R.Sundararajan, Assistant Professor, NPR College of Engineering, Accused Officer-5 Thir.M.MaheshBabu, Assistant Professor, SKP Engineering College, Accused Officer-6 Thiru.N.Anbuselvan, Assistant Professor, SKP Engineering College, Accused Officer - 7 Tmt.C.N.Pratheeba, Assistant Professor, Alagappa College of Technology, Anna University, Accused Officer - 8 Thiru I.Pragatheeswar, Assistant Professor, Alagappa College of Technology, Anna University, Accused Officer - 9 Thiru.M.Rameshkannan, Assistant Professor, Salem College of Technology, Accused Officer - 10 Thiru.S.Ramesh, Assistant Professor, no action is recommended in this report, as already action has been taken against them by the Anna University as per the prevailing rules, as per the report of the enquiry committee headed by 2/4
Dr.Muttan, is taken note of in Vigilance Commission." 3.This Court, now, directs the respondent to take a final call on the status of the present petitioner vis-a-vis the case registered in Crime No.9 of 2018. If it proposes to drop action against the present petitioner for want of any material which may prima facie suggest the involvement of the petitioner in the crime, then it is necessary to take such decision as expeditiously as possible, lest the petitioner would be left in anxiety indefinitely. 4.This Court, therefore, directs the respondent to take a final call on the petitioner's prayer, and if it proposes to file a final report implicating the petitioner or whatever, then the same has to be filed within a period of three
