This application has been filed under Order III Rule 1 of the Original Side Rule 1956 read with Clause 12 of the Letters Patent by the applicant, who is residing outside the jurisdiction of this court to grant leave to sue.

2. The contention of the applicant is that the applicant and the respondent had a private and informal engagement ceremony and thereafter, the engagement was broken up and inview of the same, the respondent published private and confidential photographs of the applicant on a social media platform INSTAGRAM on 20.03.2020 with a defamatory statements.

3. The further contention of the applicant is that the entire cause of action arose in Chennai, where the defamatory material was published and was accessible and since the petitioner is residing outside jurisdiction of this court, she prays to grant leave to sue the respondent. http://www.judis.nic.in

Having regard to the nature of the suit particularly the nature of defamatory materials stated to have been published in Chennai and the personal photographs uploaded in the social media was accessible in Chennai, and also cause of action arose within the jurisdiction of this court, leave is granted.

5. Accordingly, this application is ordered and leave is granted.
