ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to dispose the application dated 09.10.2017 given by the petitioner in accordance with law.

Heard Mr.M.Jaikumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

The case of the petitioner is that the land comprised in Survey No.263/1 to an extent of 5.74 acres was originally registered in the name of one Kasikuppam Kesavalu in the village account. The petitioner is suppose to be the legal heir of the said Kasikuppam Kesavalu and he failed to pay any tax for the subject land. After his grand father's demise, the petitioner and others are in possession and enjoyment of the subject land. Therefore, the petitioner filed an application for issuance of Patta.

A perusal of the records revealed that the petitioner failed to produce any records to show that they are in possession and enjoyment of the said land and also his grand father's derived title by means of any documents. 5.

Therefore, the representation of the petitioner cannot be considered and the writ petition is devoid of merits and liable to be dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file appropriate application with all necessary required documents before the authorities concerned if so advised.

Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
